Women in Pakistan Hold Rallies Defending Islamic Dress Codes

Thousands of women have taken to the streets across Pakistan on Hijab day against the western culture invasion of Islamic values and in support of their right to exercise their freedom of wearing Hijab and live modestly not only in Pakistan but also for Muslims all around the world.

Protesters say that freedom-discourse has been widely used against the Muslim women especially their Hijab. They say Hijab covers their heads not their brains and so it does not stop them from thinking.
Rallies were organized by Jamat-e-Islami's women wing in major cities including Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
Participants denounced the campaign against Hijab from the western and secular lobbies who they say have deprived the women in western society of their right to live modestly and using double standards when it comes to the freedom of wearing the Islamic dress code.
Participants also slammed the commercialization and co-modification of women by the so-called modern marketing industry, which they say has ruined both the family system and the society in the west.
They say Hijab in fact is the real asset of the women and demand the government to stop vulgarity, happening right under their nose, through stricter regulation of the local media, which they say, is blindly following the western culture.
