In a message, Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi condemned both the US and the Zionist regime over the production of the anti-Islam movie, describing it as an insult to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He then praised reactions to this film made by the awakened Muslims in several Islamic countries.
The Ayatollah said this disgraceful action taken by the US and the Zionist regime showed they are afraid of the development of the Islamic Awakening movement around the world.
In response to the anti-Islam film, the Libyan and Egyptian people protested against the action for two consecutive days on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Basij-e Mostazafin Organization (Mobilization of the Oppressed) also announced Thursday it is ready to hold nationwide demonstrations Friday in protest to the insulting movie.
The organization said the demonstrations would aim at showing unity among the Muslims all over the world.
