Some local agencies released news over the martyrdom of the custodian of holy Shrine.

In response, the fighters of the Public Committees carried out military operations against the militants' strongholds in Hejira, injuring a number of militants.

It's worth to mention that Sayyeda Zainab region in Damascus countryside is exposed to daily mortar shells and rocket-propelled grenades fired by armed groups.

The holy shrine, located in southern suburb of Damascus, also suffered damages in an attack by terrorists in June 2012. A car bomb explosion was also occurred near an intersection leads up to the shrine in September, 2008.

Last month, a group of foreign-backed terrorists have also clashed with army troops near the shrine.

Syria has been gripped by deadly unrest since 2011. According to the United Nations, more than 90,000 people have been killed and millions of others displaced in the violence.

Damascus says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.

The regime of Israel, along with the West and its other regional allies, are partners in supporting over two years of deadly militancy in Syria.
