The Shia Ulema Council Pakistan (SUCP), Activists, Imamia Students Organisation on Saturday staged protest against terrorism in Peshawar in which several Shiite people were killed during Friday prayers.
A large number of workers of Jafaria Youth Pakistan and Jafaria Students Organisation, led by SUCP President Allama
Mazhar Abbas Alvi, participated in the protest outside the Lahore Press Club on Saturday.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the killing of innocent people.
Speaking on the occasion, Allama Mazhar Abbas demanded that the government take effective steps to curb terrorism.
Also Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) staged a protest demonstration against the suicide attack.
Holding banners and placards inscribed with different slogans, dozens of ISO activists protested in front of Peshawar Press Club. The ISO alleged the government had failed to provide protection to the community, adding Shia members were being killed for no reason. They demanded the government to arrest the killers; otherwise, they would launch a series of protests against such incidents. Later on, the protesting ISO activists dispersed peacefully.
