A senior Shia advocate of the Lahore High Court was shot and badly wounded in Lahore after unidentified assailants intercepted him on the main road.
The lawyer community has condemned the attack and has called for increased security to the Shias countrywide.
Shia community has also strongly protested against the killing incidents and has blamed the government for not ensuring safety and security of the locals.
All the major representatives of Shia organizations, demanding the government to stop allowing foreign agents operate in Pakistan passed a joint resolution.
They said it is the foreign agents working inside Pakistan and killing Shias, to inflame sectarian violence and increase country’s instability.
Though the government has assured its complete support towards ensuring arrests of the killers and security for Shias across the country; Experts say killers are still out on the loose and are easily targeting Shia Muslims.
Living under high risk of loss of lives; Shia mosques have marked the names of the killed victims, in remembrance and honor.
Targeted killing of Shias has been on the rise in Pakistan. Shia organizations have warned the government to strong protests against sheltering the killers and not providing security to the Shia Muslims.
