The study pointed out (Index of global terrorism), a study on global terrorism issued by the Institute for Economics and Peace, that Iraq has seen the bulk of the terrorist attacks between 2002 and 2011, pointing out that the pace of terrorist attacks declined since 2007 after a steady rise in the rates between 2002 and 2007 .
The index also pointed out that the biggest period saw an increase in the frequency of attacks between 2005 and 2007 because of events in Iraq.
The index, compared to 158 countries over the past ten years have highlighted the outcome of the terrorist operations in the world.
The share of Pakistan, India and Afghanistan of terrorist attacks between 2002 and 2009 accounted for 12, 11 and 10 percent respectively, according to the study.
