Alam procession of Bada Tazia was taken out at Allahabad

ALLAHABAD, India: Several sessions of majlis-e-aza and mourning processions are being taken out in the ongoing Muharram period throughout the country.

On the second day of this month, the annual alam procession of Bada Tazia was taken out which was attended by thousands of Hussaini mourners including a large number of sunni muslims.

The crowd in the procession filled the atmosphere with sounds of 'Ya Ali, Ya Husain'. The procession is taken out in memory of Imam Husain (AS) and his faithful 72 companions who attained martyrdom in the burning desert of Karbala some 1400 years ago for the defense of Islam and shariat and safety of high human values.

The juloos (procession) proceeded on its traditional route through Johnstonganj, Leader Road, Khari Kuain, Shahganj, Pathar Gali, Nakhas Kohna, Kotwali, Thateri bazaar and returned to Bada Tazia.
