Pakistani Shia group warns of long march if killings not stopped

Pakistani major Shia party on Saturday threatened to launch a long march if the government fails to stop killings of Shia Muslims in Pakistan.

Allama Ameen Shaheedi, Deputy Secretary General Majlis Wehdat Muslemeen (MWM) made the announcement while presenting a joint statement issued in All Shia Parties Conference at a local hotel.

Secretary General Majlis Wehdat Muslemeen (MWM) Raja Nasir Abbas said that his party wants Pakistanis from different school of thoughts to join the long march and demanded the government to expel the American Ambassador from Pakistan.

“Iran is peaceful because there is no US Embassy in the country,” he said.

The joint statement by All Shia Parties Conference said that efforts will continue for the unity of Pakistani nation.

It said that a strong voice will be raised at all platforms against the target killings and terrorism in Pakistan.

The statement said that Shia community forms major part of Pakistan and would stand in front of the enemies of Pakistan with full force.

It said that Shias of Pakistan protest to security agencies for failing to punish the terrorists.

It further said that security agencies of Pakistan must play their roles for making land routes from Quetta to Taftan, Peshawar to Parachinar and Rawalpindi to Gilgit safe.

The statement demanded of the Judiciary Chief to take action against the killings of Shias in Pakistan.

It said that the security of Balochistan especially of Quetta must be handed over to the Army of Pakistan.

It said that increasing influence of US in Burma, Bahrain,Yamen, Iraq is unacceptable. It further said that US diplomats must be expelled out from Pakistan.

The statement said that makers of sacrilegious movie against Holy prophet Mohammad (PBUH) are liable to be killed and said that Pakistan should end its diplomatic relations with US.

Secretary General Majlis Wehdat Muslemeen (MWM) Raja Nasir Abbas in his concluding address said that, to rule the world is the main objective of US, however, the country has to accept that now it is not a super power.

He said that US is afraid of the increasing influence of Iran in the world which has become major regional power.

He said that US wants to polarize the whole world and hatching conspiracies to sow seeds of hatred among Muslim Ummah. “US cannot tolerate popular leaderships in Muslim countries,” he said.

Raja Nasir Abbas warned that a conspiracy is going in Pakistan to separate Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan provinces. ‘Shias are the victims in Pakistan,’ he added.

The MWM leader said that US is against Shias in Pakistan because the community is fully aware of the hippocratic attitude of the country.

He called for forging unity between Shias and Sunnis of Pakistan to counter anti-Pakistan activities of US.

Secretary General MWM asked the government not to permit the United Nations (UN) to interfere in the affairs of Pakistan.

He said that United States and Zionist regime are involved in producing the blasphemous movie and it is unpardonable crime.

Replying to a question posed by a journalist Raja Nasir Abbas said that his party is against diplomatic relations with the US and permission of expansion of US Embassy in Islamabad is against the whishes of Pakistani nation.

To another question he said that soon a petition would be filed in the Supreme Court seeking action against the killings of Shias in Pakistan.

Answering a query he said making of sacrilegious movie is tantamount to the insult of whole mankind.

A large number of Shia leaders from different parties attended the conference. Expressing their views they praised worldwide Muslim reaction to the sacrilegious movie and urged Muslims to remain vigilant against the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam.

The scholars on the occasion also gave their views for the security of Shia community of Pakistan.
