A new book on the life of Hazrat Zahra (AS), daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), is published to discuss the life of the Lady as well as the events during the beginning years after revelation of Islam.

“Prophet’s Daughter: A Review on the Life of Hazrat Zahra (AS)” is the name of the latest book, a compilation of topics discussed by grand Allameh Seyyed Morteza Askari, published by Allameh Askari Publication.

The book is divided into two sections where the first section discusses the incidents during the beginning years after the revelation of Islam including the invasion and confiscation of Fadak, illness, martyrdom and funeral of Hazarat Zahra (AS).

This section is written based on the documents and credible references of Islam.

The second section is a comparative study of the topic drawing the views of Islamic references and views explained by historians.

Part of this book is on the role of Hazrat Fatemeh (AS). According to the book the whole life of Hazrat Fatemeh (AS) was spent to stand against the hostile strategies of the ruling government when as the last resort, the Lady, demanded her funeral to be held privately so that no one could know the spot of her burial so that remained as a rejection to recognize the then ruler of Muslim world.

Criterion For Respect in Islam

Here, it is absolutely essential to indicate that in the religion of Islam, world and its positions and status are not the criteria for respect and honor lest a qualified government officer considers himself as superior to an ordinary clerk or peon. The criteria for respect and superiority in Islam are piety and faith.
إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ
“Surely the most honourable amongst you is the most pious of you.”
Hence, it’s quite possible that an ordinary peon gains proximity to the Almighty on account of his piety and strong belief while a top-ranking public officer may be lowly and degraded as he lacks these vital qualities.
Differences in Potentialities and Abilities
Every individual can indulge in multi-tasking but his abilities and talent in all tasks and fields are not the same. Here, the point is not of rivalry and competition. Two brothers differ with each other talent-wise. Therefore, if one is weak in education does not necessarily mean that he may be weak in all walks of life. Now, if the parents continue to insist on this child to gain higher education, they may not meet with much success. The right approach to this problem is that after he has gained elementary education, the aptitude of the child should be tested and he should be placed in a field where he can use his talent and aptitude to the maximum. In this way, he will achieve great success in a very short time. With the help of his talent and abilities, he will locate newer avenues and sources of income. To maintain the system of the universe, all kinds of individuals are required. Allah the Almighty has created different folks for different strokes. It’s our duty to locate our aptitude, select the field and proceed in it to gain success.
Imam Ja’far Sadeq (a.s.) admonishes,
“For every industrialist and professional to succeed in his field, it is essential that he possesses three traits: a) He should have scientific (knowledge) expertise in his field, (b) He should be trustworthy and (c) He should be passionate about his work.

The book's Approach

It is worth emphasizing here that the book's ideas are not based on ancient legends, nor does it reflect some sort of narrative of science fiction, involving utopian predictions about man's future. This book is based on scientific research, and it intends to give an objective understanding of the common human hope for salvation and the establishment of a just global community.

This book has been written for the academic, as well as the young student. It flowing the style of question and answer in order to create an attentive environment for the reader. This style will allow for the reader to move from topic as he pleases. I hope the reader will follow the book's ideas with excitement.

The quotations taken from other objective sources for proving a point are not necessary used with the intention of creating certainty.

In the course of scientific discussion many adopted arguments may prove to be unconvincing for the other side. Logicians gave thus divided 'argument' into different major categories, such as:

• Al-Burhan – Certain proof, Which is based on a pure rational method.

• Shaaban or Munabih 'ala Al-Wijdan – A method by which the attention is drawn to a matter through clear and obvious reasoning, however the point is considered as axiomatic and a priori.

• Al-Jadal – When a quotation accepted by the other side can be used in criticism – to clarify a point.

Any scientific quotations implemented in this book are used in the context of the second or even third category of the above.

When we also mention narrations from non-Shi'ah references, it is just a matter of strengthening conviction from the wores of others. It is not necessarily the case that we accept the reliability of the narrators, nor automatically consider the narration to be authentic.
